In 2008, the XF picked up What Diesel's top prize of 'Car of the Year' and has won more than 20 international accolades since its launch, including What Car' 'Car of the Year', Auto Express 'Car of the Year' and Top Gear 'Limo of the Year'.
Geoff Cousins, UK Managing Director, Jaguar Cars said: "Another fantastic win for the XF from What Diesel magazine and particularly significant as the diesel market accounts for 80 percent of XF sales in the UKThe XF range has been enhanced even more in 2009 and includes a new 3.0-litre Diesel S offering a marked improvement in CO2 and fuel economy over the 2.7-litre engine it replaces. These benefits, combined with a generous specification and a competitive price of £36,900 make this new diesel an irresistible choice for the customer."
Ian Robertson, Editor of What Diesel magazine, said: "The Jaguar XF is a deeply satisfying car to drive, with a stunning interior design that renders most of its opposition outdated. The new 3.0-litre Diesel engines provide effortless performance combined with superb refinement."
The 2010 Model Year Jaguar XF is available to order now and customers can choose from two versions of the 3.0-litre AJ-V6D Gen III diesel engine - a 240PS engine, simply named the XF Diesel and a 275PS engine known as the XF Diesel S.
The XF Diesel S is a stunning new high-performance diesel distinguished by 19 inch wheels, an aerodynamic boot lid spoiler and discreet 'S' badging. Powered by a 275PS engine, it gives outstanding levels of performance, accelerating from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds, 1.8 seconds quicker than the excellent 2.7-litre model.
The equally impressive 240PS version of the new 3.0-litre engine produces 16 percent more power and a 15 percent increase in torque over the 2.7-litre diesel, allowing the XF to reach 60mph in 6.7 seconds.
These new 3.0-litre diesel engines produce 10 percent less CO2 than the 2.7-litre, while power has increased by 33 percent in Diesel S guise. As well as tackling CO2, the new 3.0-litre engines meet the forthcoming EU5 regulations, due to come into force at the start of 2011. And these great performance leaps are achieved with combined average fuel consumption in both models of 42.0mpg - an improvement on the 2.7-litre engine of 12 percent.
There are also significant trim and specification changes - including many new features - and the introduction of a new luxurious Portfolio derivative as part of the core rangeFor Jaguar and the new 2010 Model Year XF, the high-performance diesel has truly arrived.
Available to order now, XF customers can choose from five engines in the UK, all featuring Jaguar's excellent six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted 'paddles' for manual gear selection. The 2010 MY XF has best-in-class credentials in terms of performance, fuel economy and emissions.

ends…Editor's note:
New 2010 Model Year XF range introduces Jaguar's most advanced, most powerful and most efficient cars ever. Two all-new 5.0-litre direct-injection petrol engines - the AJ-V8 Gen III and supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III R - power a new generation of XF and XFR. The XFR accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, sprints from 50-70mph in 1.9 seconds and has a maximum limited speed of 155mph. The naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 accelerates to 60mph in 5.5 seconds (0-100kph in 5.7 seconds) - some 0.8 seconds quicker than the 4.2 XF. Despite the significant increases in power, CO2 emissions of the naturally aspirated engine are the same as the outgoing naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8, and the supercharged engine produces lower CO2 emissions than its predecessor. The XF range pricing - UK
